There’s no ‘I’ in ‘Team’ but there is in ‘I See You’

Without doubt Michael Jordan was one of the greatest sportsmen ever but the Chicago Bulls NBA player himself famously admitted that although talent wins games, it’s teamwork that wins championships.

My name’s Mark Billage and I have to admit, I’ve never played professional basketball, (being a little on the short side!) I have however written a book about how teamwork is an essential part of any business organisation. The book is called I See You and is I am pleased to say available for pre-order from today. It’s a leadership guide for transforming team culture.

I See You By Mark Billage

Why Write A Book?

I didn’t write this book because I’m a writer, I wrote this book because I’m an experienced organisational leader with over 22 years experience working across the world in either CEO or senior management roles. The book is my way of sharing that experience, knowledge and know how so that team leaders from senior leadership down can develop the best possible teams that will undoubtedly improve their organisations

I See You contains practical leadership principles, which when implemented, will enable leaders to unlock the potential of their staff, turning group of employees into high performing teams.

Above anything else this book aims to solve two separate problems. Firstly, it will help when team culture gets in the way of potential effectiveness and secondly, it will help navigate those moments when the actions of a leader influences and undermines the performance of the team.

This book isn’t just another ‘self-help book for business leaders’ that will sit unread beside your bed, this is a practical book that will guide you through the process step by step. Reading this book is an investment of time that will generate a healthy return … the more you invest, the better the return.

I guess I’ve always been curious about what makes some business leaders more successful than others. I’ve operated in various leadership roles and have always sought to bring theory and practice together to create teams and working relationships that enable people to bring their very best performance to the table.

To pursue this more intentionally I founded Smart Culture Ltd, as a basis for helping leaders and team members to see differently. My goal was to enable leaders to transform team culture creating a place where every team member’s voice can be heard, and all can bring their best contribution in a safe environment. In my experience this leads to higher levels of trust, greater innovation, decision-making and productivity.

The next logical step for me personally was to bring this experience together in this book. I See You is self-published and you can get a preview and pre-order by clicking here and online at booksellers and Amazon.

After a good career and after sitting down to write this book I came to a very simple but incisive conclusion. When you talk to people, colleagues or staff, you learn as much, if not more from listening and it’s often the silences that generate the most valuable information.

I See You is the product of years of listening … not talking.

Stay safe.
